I hadn't thought about that as use of a cell phone in other than hands free mode while driving in Chicago is illegal (as it should be, duh). I Twitter and Plurk from the stationary safety of my desk top computer at home, so I'm not terribly likely to cause a vehicular incident on the third floor of my building! Like many things, it's not the idea (Twitter) that is bad, it's the mis-use of the concept (texting while driving) that is at fault. One might argue that driving is the problem, not Twitter or texting that would be the issue if one were to follow that logical line. Texting while driving is certainly a terrible idea.
